Gaultier, Givenchy and Versace and formed the inspiration for Jordan
Hone to look towards gothic tradition for his collection.
This nod to Gothicism is not about the recent trend of ʻgothʼ styling, it is
steeped in something much older, more magical, that sits somewhere
between history and myth.
The hair direction features styles rooted deeply in fantasy, conjuring up a
sense of old world storytelling with a subtle horror/romance subtext. The
styles are over-dramatised, featuring architectural shapes and geometric
lines. Looks include carefully structured domed horns, extended and
fanned hair reminiscent of black wings and a Mohawk which captures the
contrast between shine and texture.
Black and white is the centerpiece, with carefully constructed lighting
creating intriguing shadows and contrast, adding to the mystery and
intrigue of the collection.

A dandy(also known as a beau or gallant) is a man who places particular importance
upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies, pursued with the
appearance of nonchalance in a cult of self. Historically, especially in late 18th- and
early 19th-century Britain, a dandy, who was self-made, often strove to imitate
an aristocratic lifestyle despite coming from a middle-classbackground.

Virtuality conceptualized when I set eyes on a Facebook
post by Fashion World, the image appeared real – a live
model, physical garments and makeup – yet at the same
time alluded to being hand drawn.
I was creatively and mentally stimulated. This image
enabled the viewer to decide on its context, its reality. I
knew from this point I wanted to offer a similar
experience with this new creative collection
Still fixated on this particular image, I began to evaluate
the hair, drawn to its transparency. From here my
thought process moved to fabrics, textures and the
possibility of manipulating hair to appear textile.
Textiles – the canvas for so many shapes, silhouettes
and styles – weaving, puckering, lace and crochet, the
options are endless.
