The iconic Mieka Hairdressing, located in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast, has been crowned the 2014 Australian Salon of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards along with three further accolades. The awards were announced at a star-studded industry event held at The Ivy Grand Ballroom on Monday 31st March. This amazing achievement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the Mieka Hairdressing team. With a total of four awards, Mieka Hairdressing was a standout performer on the night receiving the following awards:

• Mieka Hairdressing: 2014 Australian Salon of the Year
• Tracey Hughes: 2014 Excellence in Education
• Olivia Zynevych: 2014 Salon Manager of the Year
• Melvin Royce Lane: 2014 F.A.M.E Team

Creative Director and salon owner, Tracey Hughes is extremely proud and humbled by the success of her team, following the event. As the recipient of Excellence in Education for 4 consecutive years now Tracey is an icon in the hairdressing industry, committing her time to travelling extensively to empower thousands of other stylists. Tracey believes Mieka’s success is a credit to the team’s dedication to ongoing training and sound business practices.

Dopo il successo dell’edizione 2013 con 130.000 lezioni di formazione donate a migliaia di giovani che vivono in condizione di disagio sociale in Brasile, MAKING WAVES, l’onda di energia positiva WELLA, sta per giungere alla seconda edizione con la giornata di raccolta fondi in programma per giovedì 8 maggio 2014.

L’8 maggio, appuntamento di bellezza e solidarietà nei saloni Wella per il WELLA-UNICEF DAY, che vede impegnati centinaia di parrucchieri a far salire a colpi di spazzola e phon il contatore del numero di lezioni per corsi professionali di parrucchiere destinati ai ragazzi in condizione di disagio sociale. A fronte di un contributo liberamente versato, che viene devoluto all’UNICEF, ogni donna ha l’opportunità di compiere un gesto di grande valore per se stessa e per gli altri, aiutando a trasformare la vita dei giovani, aprendola a un nuovo futuro.

I fondi raccolti saranno utilizzati sia per incrementare l’attività dei centri di avviamento professionale già sorti in Brasile nelle città di Rio De Janeiro, Recife e Belem, e in Romania a Focsani, sia per realizzare nuovi centri di educazione giovanile in Brasile dove i ragazzi acquisiscano competenze utili per la vita beneficiando di attività sportive e ricreative.
