KEMON – Perugia
The Italian Touch n.9

D&J AMBROSE – UK
Industricity Collection

Tough NEW men’s collection from D&J Ambrose: Industricity

Inspired by the iconic monochrome images of Richard Avedon’s 1980’s road trip through the American West, these images capture the essence of real men’s style. Richard’s images defined the true heroes of a real working class America, in all their gritty glory and quirky style. Industricity is homage to that masculinity and a celebration of hair with modern texture, shape and colour.
This graduated shape builds weight that creates triangular width and texture. The soft wave is strung through with multi-tonal shades of blonde and dressed with sea salt spray for texture. D&J Ambrose: Industricity
Mid length hair is tinted dark cool brown and shot through with strands of murky golds. The sides of the hair were dressed back; the top sections styled in over sized curls and piled in on themselves to create a messy Rock-a-Billy look.

D&J Ambrose: Industricity
Jaw length curls were over styled and then dressed out. Chunky sections are taken and pushed back on themselves with the fingers to give volume and a matt texture. The natural hair was highlighted with dirty blondes and styled into an almost diamond like shape. D&J Ambrose: Industricity
Drenched in dark auburn, this head hugging style is cut with a sharp graphic outline and length through the crown. The look is styled flat and glossy, curved under through the fringe to add a ‘peak’. D&J Ambrose: Industricity

NHF INSPIRE – UK
Graphique Noir

NHF Inspire
GRAPHIQUE NOIR
Backstage at the latest NHF Inspire photo shoot, the team were buzzing with creativity and bursting to style their models for the cameras. Led by British Hairdresser of the Year Akin Konizi and the hob creative team, and sponsored by Fudge, the team’s second photoshoot together produced a graphic statement of style that showcased a soft and romantic finish called the Graphique Noir Collection.
Five of the ten NHF Inspire members participated on the day, including Kayleigh Louise Nicholas (CF40 Experience, Tonypandy), Katy Grimshaw (Celestearnold hair and make up in Lancashire), Colin McAndrew (Medusa Hairdressing, Edinburgh), Matthew Guy Sutcliffe (Westrow, Leeds) and Gary Hunter (Frances Hunter Hairdressers, Stirling ) all took part in the shoot creating a combination of sexy, sultry looks and sleek finishes.
Akin Konizi commented on the new collection “We’re bringing in strong, graphic haircuts with an attitude that also blends a softer, more romantic element. The black & white effect helps to juxtapose the hard and soft lines of the styling and the result is a shoot that is extremely on trend!”
A first for new NHF Inspire Manager, Rebecca Dickinson from The Vanilla Rooms in Doncaster, who attended her first shoot with the team, summed up the day “The team along with hob worked so hard – a day’s prepping with colour and products provided by our sponsors Fudge, meetings to discuss mood boards and themes for the collection, and then a full on day of shooting, styling and directing. The energy and group inspiration coming through on the day was unlike anything I’ve seen – this team are strong, creative and it’s my aim to really get these guys noticed by the industry. They’ve produced another inspiring collection.”
The NHF Inspire team share their inspirations and direction on the new collection:
Kayliegh Louise Nicholas: “My styles were about sexy, sultry hair that had an organic feel. It’s important to get the foundations right for any style and then you build the finished look from there.”
Colin McAndrew: “I was able to do some cutting, not just styling, on my model. It’s a great opportunity to show your skills and vision to then create a wearable but technically developed finish.”
Matthew Guy Sutcliffe: “This collection enabled me to express my understanding of face shapes, layering and definition. It’s all about creating natural movement but to then have a focal point such as the fringe, in this case.”
Gary Hunter: “My look was all about a short crop that had a real editorial feel that’s on trend for 2010. It’s short but versatile – it works well smooth and textured.”
Katy Grimshaw: “I was able to show a real change in style from brunette to blonde and to create defined short crop. Working with agreed theme encourages you to be creative but still keep to the end collection focus.”

FRANCESCO GROUP – UK
Vamp Collection

Francesco Group
Vamp Collection
Vamp is hard edged modern glamour with style, eight fabulous new looks for the coming season.
Anya Dellicompagni, Director of Hairdressing, Francesco Group, has defined glamour from the dark side with her latest collection – Vamp. These screen siren looks with a hard modern edge channel eight powerful images that carry the spirit and style of a whole new age in feminine beauty. Pale milky complexions are offset by smoky eyes and lips that are nude or deepest darkest crimson…with Vamp there is no middle road! The structured clothes unite textures of chainmail, chiffon, PVC, cotton and taffeta in a heady cocktail of figure hugging couture that has more than a touch of bondage combined with 90s grunge.
Vamp Collection This beautiful wrap style works well on short and longer lengths. Polished mahogany tones are given a deep side parting with the fringe swept seductively across the face and styled close to the head.
Vamp Collection Icy blonde hair is upswept with waves piled high at the crown and a fringe sculpted into a seductive curve that outlines the brow and accentuates the face.
Vamp Collection Ruby tones with a copper hue are cut into a face framing fringe with graduation through the back and graphic lines through the outline. The sides are cut with a little asymmetry and styled irreverently with a touch of wayward texture.
Vamp Collection The modern pony is swept tightly to the top of the head and bound to create height while the lengths are given a soft undulating texture and teased out for volume.
Vamp Collection Beautiful auburn hair is dressed soft and flat in this head hugging shape with graduation through the nape. The outline of the cut mirrors soft, womanly curves, with a convex line through the neck and fringe.
Vamp Collection This graphic blunt cut jaw length bob in dirty blonde tones has been dressed dramatically back with height through the crown to accentuate the head shape and the fractured texture of the style.
Vamp Collection Innocent blonde tones contradict the dominatrix lips while the gentle layering and dressing through the side panels is offset and tamed by the solid eye framing fringe.
Vamp Collection This coppery/blood red halo of curls circles the head for a touch of chaotic but uber feminine style. Each curl has been sensuously teased with the fingers to maximise the volume of this look.
