INSPIRATION

SYZYGY:

• A conjunction or opposition
• A collinear configuration of celestial bodies
• To describe the union of opposite constructs

My collection explores the relationship between opposing constructs; the chaos of natural cosmic order and the beauty left in its wake. Drawn from the astrological definition of a syzygy, each image represents the potential outcomes of a catastrophic celestial alignment; tidal waves, eclipses, solar flares, thermal and gravitational phenomena. All natural occurrences that can be both destructive and beautiful at the same time – “Understanding the union between opposing constructs, seeking beauty within the destructive forces of nature on a cosmic level.”

Syzygy describes the end of the world, birth of new life and the connection between a pair of opposites. I wanted my collection to be a commentary on looking beyond chaos to find beauty, and to showcase that through hair artistry. With the word so firmly rooted in astrology, I wanted my images to be vivid and cosmic in nature.

The ’90s fostered a generation raised by emotionally unavailable fathers, leaving young adults to navigate identity alone.  Rebellion became their voice, with hair serving as the ultimate outlet for self-expression.  Bold cuts, vibrant colours, and daring designs defied societal norms, turning hair into a deeply personal art form.

The Daddy Issues collection honours this unapologetic individuality, celebrating those who transformed emotional voids into creative power.  It’s not just about rebellion, it’s about reclaiming autonomy and telling stories of resilience.  This collection is a raw, authentic tribute to self-expression, proving that through defiance, we find freedom, and through freedom, ourselves.

Granada es un susurro de historia y pasión, un reflejo de matices que evocan la belleza en su estado más puro. ALMA, la nueva colección 2025 de DOUSSE, se sumerge en esta sinfonía de tonos y emociones, inspirándose en la libertad poética de García Lorca para convertir el cabello en una obra de arte viva.

Los tonos moka y chocolate emergen como protagonistas absolutos, envolviendo la melena en un juego de profundidad y calidez que evoca el misterio de los patios andaluces al caer la tarde. Los rubios resplandecientes, luminosos y etéreos, capturan la esencia dorada de la luz que besa los miradores al amanecer. En cada color, en cada destello, vibra el espíritu de Granada: libre, eterno, inolvidable.

Cortes y peinados nacen de la armonía entre la tradición y la vanguardia, explorando líneas que fluyen con la naturalidad de los versos escritos en el viento. Formas que respiran movimiento, texturas que dialogan con la luz y estructuras que narran historias sin palabras.

Para vestir esta visión, nos acompaña la majestuosidad de MONAE cuya alta costura abraza la esencia de la colección con piezas que elevan cada look a un universo de sofisticación y arte.

Gypsy is a hair collection born from the untamed spirit of a wanderer — a soul whose world is a swirling marble of colour, texture, and art.

Inspired by the fearless blending of cultures, fabrics, and dreams, Gypsy weaves together rich tapestries of marble prints, flowing silks, and wild textures to create hair that moves like poetry and speaks without words. 

Each style is a rebellion against the ordinary, a celebration of the beautiful chaos found in the fusion of art and life. 

Gypsy is for those who live unbound, who find home in the journey and freedom in every thread of their story. It’s not just a collection — it’s a movement, a dance between cultures, a masterpiece written in strands.

‘Introducing the latest collection from Mahogany Hairdressing.

“New Boho II” takes strong references from the fashion house Chloe and their Creative Director Chemena Kamali.

Kamali’s return to the French house draws inspiration from the sheer, fluid freedom of the ‘70’s and the longest serving Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld.

Whilst remaining absolute to the Mahogany Hairdressing viewpoint, this year’s collection comprises of seamless disconnection, erratic silhouettes and dishevelled point cutting born from the foundations of our strength of precision cutting and colour.

The colour palette is a blend of Scandinavian blondes with contrasting metallic blue and blush peaches, sultry brunettes using an inky palette to bring depth and shine”.
