“The latest collection from Mahogany Hairdressing; ‘ Peacock Girls ‘ takes strong references from the iconic 1960s fashion designer Tommy Nutter, the leading figure behind the fashion movement, ‘ The Peacock Revolution’.
This dramatic change in menswear created dandie-ish high collars and vividly printed shirts.
Whilst remaining absolute to the Mahogany Hairdressing viewpoint, shades of apricot, graphite, maroon and indigo are used with soft blending and smudging techniques, marrying effortlessly with this androgynous imagery that encapsulates a fusion of geometry, dishevelled silhouettes, curved lines and head hugging fitted shapes without ever abandoning flaunting femininity.” Colin Greaney, International Creative Director.

C’est depuis les podiums des défilés que se font et défont les tendances
en matière de beauté et de coiffure en particulier. Pour être dans la tendance
de cet automne hiver 2016-17, on se coiffe mais pas n’importe comment.
Les attaches quelles qu’elles soient doivent être plus sophistiquées. Alors chignons
et autres coiffages seront plaqués, sans être totalement tirés, pour un résultat
et un effet chic.

Angelo Labriola, Taranto – Italia

Tomoe Gozen was a female Samurai Warrior in the 12th Century.
She displayed courage and strength unlike any other female
warrior.
After reading the novel “The Disfavoured Hero” by Jessica Amanda
Salmonson based on her life, I was fascinated by her, and wanted to
create a collection inspired by her warrior strength and courage.
The haircuts and styles I created were my interpretation of a
modern-day Samurai Warrior.
The haircuts possess strong shapes and sharp lines reflecting a
tough and masculine feel. I wanted to recreate the box bob with a
futuristic feel for one of the looks.
Texture in the hair w as created to add contrast and diversity
focusing on current and future trends. I drew inspiration from the
‘Samurai Bun’, very popular for male and female warriors recreating
that for two of looks with a modern and commercial twist.
Movement in the hair was to capture a feeling as though it was wind
blowing while the samurai rode into battle.
