| A chance reading of Mao’s Last Dancer provided surprising inspiration for this latest collection, Force. The intrigue and colour in Chinese culture at this time, where children were chosen to be a part of Mao’s revolution gave rise to the warrior influence, yet with a feminine strength. Like anything in life, this inspiration was also transformed into an overall theme, with cues taken from the strength and tribal focus from Indian, Native American and African cultures. |
