More than 500 of the country’s top Afro hairstylist and professionals gathered at the Hilton London Metropole for the 14th Black Beauty/Whal Hair Awards. Some 150 stylists had entered the award, with 60 making the finals. The Black Beauty/Whal Hair Awards cover 12 categories that recognise the diversity and versatility of Afro hair. |
The top award for Stylist of the Year went to Kim Jhonson from Hype Coiffure who said: “I’ve always been behind the Black Beauty/Wahl Hair Awards andm have mentored my team to enter. I love creating looks with Afro hair and I thought it was essential to raise the level with my entry.”
Other winners included Shade Oloniyo from Josh Hair and Beauty, london, who scooped the Newcomer of the year award and MK from MK Hair Studio and Academy, london, who won barber of the year.
