For this collection Karine Jackson has worked with a ‘day to night’ theme and wanted to contrast a very natural, understated look with a show stopping look for each model. For the colour techniques, she looked to everything from space to the iconic Debbie Harry: the peach blonde with dark roots is based on the pattern of a nebular, while the Saturn Ring technique (above) is used to create a band of colour in the mid-lengths of the hair for a statement finish. Other new techniques include Melange, which is all about the blending of subtle shades to give a cool translucent finish, and Schu Shine, a fun technique that gives a random, mussy dispersal of colour.

The word Kaleidoscope originates from Greece meaning ‘beautiful form to see’. In creating the Kaloseidos Collection sought to emulate the function of the kaleidoscope while celebrating the inherent beauty of the patina process. This collection includes stencilled 3D graphic focal placements, unique colour fusion techniques, graduation root glow technique and tessellating geometric graphic colour of synthetic greens, digitized yellows, slate, graphite, infusions of pastels, burnt oaks to add dimension in the shapes, waify textures, accentuate focal point areas and strengthen graphic lines.

The Allilon Education Art Team has launched Balance, a fusion of dramatic colour and dynamic shapes that has resulted in a bold and beautiful collection. The aim and undercurrent of the collection is to raise awareness and profile VITAL, the children’s charity that is being supported by Allilon Education throughout 2014. Hair flows from shapes that are either completely symmetrical or truly off balance through the use of asymmetry. Lengths were chosen to simplify strong, bold colours, while more dynamic shapes complement simpler colour placement. Contrasting primary and secondary tones, opposite each other on the colour wheel, were fused to give a feeling of ‘balance’ by neutralising each other. Taking reference from the draping silk in Sandro Botticelli’s interpretation of Venus, the finest silk was used to create flowing shapes and soft movement. Sectioning patterns were taken from the material, with colours emulating the rich fabrics and colours of India, making reference to VITAL’s bright, happy and beautiful work for children there. “Playing with the word balance enables us to highlight the moral aspects of how we live our lives, as well as the power we hold as an industry to really help make a difference.” Johnny Othona, Director, Allilon Education

Inspired by media trends following the recent recession and the theme of survival, New World Order is the latest collection from D&J Ambrose Colour Director, Clayde Baumann, showcasing new colour techniques that mimic fashion and palette trends like camouflage and animal print. Palette and techniques choices are inspired by popular movie culture with imagery drawn from films such as Fifth Element, Hunger Games and Tank Girl. Set in a backdrop of a post-apocalyptic dystopia, the collection explores metamorphosis and evolution, through experimentation as methods of surviving a harsh climactic environment.

            SHINE: in equilibrio sulla luce.
Splendori metallici e raffinate sfumature nella nuova collezione
            Davines 2015 by Angelo Seminara.
