| Celebrity hairdresser LEO BANCROFT recently styled the hair of regular client Abbey Clancy for her wedding to Spurs footballer Peter Crouch. A last-minute change in the dress design – from a high-lace collar to a strapless bustier – meant that Leo had to alter the hair plan just two days before the wedding, finally deciding on long, loose waves for the glamorous bride. |

| Salon Group Browns recently held its inter-salon Soiree and Awards Evening. Each salon team presented a fashion show with a specific theme, competing for the Browns Salon cup. The winning team came from the group’s salon in Buckingham with a show entitled Trash. The night raised £ 780 for MacMillian Cancer, Browns chosen charity, bringing the total aised this year to £ 75,000. |

In una settimana sono cambiate le posizioni nei risultati di ricerca di molti siti importanti su Google. Dal 12 agosto Google infatti ha introdotto un nuovo algoritmo chiamato Panda: ha in altre parole modificato le regole in base alle quali il proprio software posiziona i siti nei risultati, penalizzando quelli con contenuti di scarsa qualità e viceversa premiando i contenuti ben fatti. La società guidata da Larry Page fa continue modifiche al suo algoritmo: in un anno se ne contano dalle 400 alle 500. L’obiettivo è di rendere i risultati utili e non far perdere tempo ai navigatori, mettendo in testa i siti che meglio rispondono a una determinata "parola chiave". |

| Cecilia Bellotto, già ammessa alle prefinali nazionali, è stata esclusa dal concorso di bellezza Miss Italia a causa di alcune foto di nudo apparse su internet. Il responsabile regionale Dario Diviacchi, d’intesa con l’ufficio legale di Miss Italia, ha comunicato alla ragazza la squalifica in base all’articolo 8 del regolamento, secondo il quale "le concorrenti non devono essere state ritratte in pose di nudo o sconvenienti". Opposte le reazioni del pubblico e della stampa: da un lato chi approva la decisione, a sostegno di un’immagine di miss "acqua e sapone", dall’altro chi ritiene la condanna frutto di atteggiamenti ipocriti: Luciano Silighini Garagnani, talent scout e casting director, è tra quest’ultimi, sottolineando come Cristina Chiabotto, subito dopo aver vinto il titolo di Miss Italia 2004, fu lanciata in una campagna pubblicitaria che vedeva in primo piano il suo bel sedere nudo. Prima no, dopo sì insomma! |

Mark Woolley and the team at Electric Hairdressing London have been announced as the official hair stylists for the new Channel 4 reality show, Made in Chelsea and will be appearing throughout the series. In a recent episode, two of the show’s stars, Alexandra (Binky) Felstead and Ollie Locke, paid a visit to the Marylebone salon for a pampering session which included the signature Electric Hair Ceremony treatment. |
