The overall inspiration for this collection was taken from a film by director Shane Meadows called ‘This is England’. I combined this with the current individual styling of the Shoreditch party kids, taking inspiration from the uber trendy fashionistas from the Boombox and Hoxton square party scene. Carrying on this theme of individuality, I decided to shoot in the portraiture style of the ck campaign that made Kate Moss famous. The clothes and make up are individual for each girl, representing the eclectic fashion that’s current on London’s streets today. The haircuts are influenced from the Mods, Punks and even the Rockabilly’s. I wanted to show the use of the different textures through strong technical cutting, while the blonde quiff shows a taste of the editorial side of my work. The colours again have been individually designed for each girl. They vary from subtle and natural to contrasting pallets that clash, taking influence from the late 70s and early 80s punk scene. I have darkened the roots to create attitude and depth. I feel this collection is relative today and represents the future trends on the London and UK fashion scene.
