Tony Rizzo  Forty children undergoing treatment for leukaemia at St Anna’s Kinderspital in Vienna, Austria, and their families were recently treated to a day out at the children’s museum in the city’s Imperial Palace, courtesy of Alternative Hair. The children enjoyed dressing up in tradition 19th century costumes and playing with antique toys and games, originally used by the Emperor’s children 300 years ago. The day ended with a performance of the Magic Flute at the Marionette Theatre.

Honours American women who are worth it

Women of worthL’Oréal Paris has opened nominations via a special Website for its fourth annual Women of Worth Initiative in recognition of female volunteers. Women from all over the US are encouraged to nominate a woman in their community who is making a difference through volunteerism. The top 10 honourees that are chosen will receive $5,000 for their charitable causes and an equal amount will also be given to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, which has been affiliated with L’Oréal’s charity work since 1997. The site also offers women tips on how to get involved and shares personal stories.
