Members of the British Hairdressing Awards Artistic Team of the Year, HOB SALONS UK were requested by WELLA PROFESSIONALS Italy to lead an educational seminar in Rome last month. The team, comprising of current British Hairdresser of the Year, Akin Konizi, the reigning British Colour Technician of the Year, Christel Lundqvist and Fashion Focus Image of the Year winner Darren Bain, flew out to the Italian capital in mid January to present their brand of unique hairdressing education to an eager audience.

Presenting the Look & Learn Seminar at the Wella Studios in Rome, the three educators worked with strong disconnections, short curvatures and fringes. Reflecting spring summer 09 colour trends, the demonstrations to the 150 strong audience incorporated a bright colour palette of fuchsia reds, glazed strawberry and electric peach. Speaking of the seminar, Akin said ‘having recently been in Milan for another seminar on my own, it was great to be back in Italy presenting with some of the team. There seems to be a lot of demand for British hairdressers in Italy at the moment and the seminar in Rome proved to be really successful. Both myself and the team really enjoyed it and the audience was really enthusiastic which is always very rewarding.

The huge success of MAN (collaboration between TOPSMAN and Fashion East) at previous seasons has resulted in a new menswear initiative where 13 menswear designers got to showcase their talents. For first time ever, London Fashion Week had dedicated male grooming salon on site to cater for the men’s press attending this fantastic event.
